Here are some things you should be doing outside of class: 1) Start a folder of great examples of graphic design. You can get them from printed materials or off the internet. Towards the end of the quarter, you will have the opportunity to earn points towards raising your grade by sharing this work with me (the teacher). I’ll expect you to give specific reasons (using graphic design terms) to explain why you chose each piece. 2) Keep your notebook organized. This is for you, not for me. I’m hoping that you’ll want to keep using your skills outside of class. 3) Keep in mind that you get extra credit towards your grade for ways in which you use your new skills outside of this class. The more “extra” you do, the closer you get to a grade that reflects beyond the normal level: A.
